O’Donnell Independent School District (OISD) board members approved a seven month contract on Nov. 17 for a new band director. James Robert Cross, an Eldorado school band director, will teach music and band to OISD elementary, middle and high school students. He begins his job in January 2021. “He’s quitting that one (job in Eldorado) and coming here,” said OISD Superintendent Dr. Cathy Palmer. Cross replaces a band director who resigned in October over concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Palmer said.
