Each year when the O’Donnell High School Eagles take on a new opponent during their homecoming game, it’s a tradition among non-athletes to extend the celebrations to the following day.The O’Donnell Eagles face the Meadow Broncos starting at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20.The homecoming celebrations, called the “Cotton Festival,” brings out locals and returning school alumni to enjoy the Friday night game and stay for the Saturday celebrations.Next weekend is no different, minus the usual Saturday night dance.It seems last year’s celebrations didn’t bring out enough dancers to justify the cost of a DJ.“There’s no dance this year,” said Cotton ...
