All school campuses remain closed while government offices and businesses in Lamesa will be closing at some point this weekend for the New Year’s holiday.The holiday will also affect garbage pick-up in Lamesa.City sanitation workers will be working late until 6 p.m. collecting garbage Wednesday and Thursday, but will not collect any residential garbage on Friday. Sanitation workers will only collect trash from commercial customers until noon Friday.There will be normal working hours at the post office and mail delivery on Friday.
