New cases of COVID-19 in Dawson County are reaching numbers not seen since they were hitting their peak here late last year. Friday evening the South Plains Public Health District (SPPHD) issued an update showing 24 confirmed new cases of the virus among Dawson County residents in just the past two days. That pushed the total new cases for the past week to 65.
