SEMINOLE – During the Thursday meeting of the Gaines County Commissioners Court, Judge Tom Keyes said there had been an issue at the state line and on Hwy. 180E concerning mailboxes. The problem exists with Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) moving mailboxes out of the right-of-way while working on the highways.“And it’s really beginning to perturb some people that their mailboxes are being moved,” he said.TxDOT wants to place the boxes around the county’s right-of-way.“We don’t want the mailboxes on our right-of-way either because it really creates a hazard,” Keyes said. “I just wanted to get y’alls take on it.”–
