Doug and Claire Morris aren’t your typical couple. The two have seen the world, experienced military life during war, and are still going strong in their educational and community activities.Both served in the U.S. Marine Corps before being honorably discharged to serve as teachers, parents and community activists.If Lamesa has a need, they are usually there filling it. When a storm hit Lamesa June 26, the couple helped feed people without electricity or water and those needing to find temporary shelter.In addition to working in the Lamesa school system, Doug has served as a city council member for five years.
