If the city’s public swimming pool opens this summer, families and kids likely will flock to a place to cool off.
A question remains, however, about whether the city can afford to reopen a pool that hasn’t seen a swimmer in two years. The pool did not open last summer due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Mayor Josh Stevens asked council members Tuesday about re-opening the city pool, possibly increasing entrance fees, and considering a Splash Pad to replace the 60-year-old pool.
“I’m always for the kids,” Stevens said. “I want to give them something to do.”
