Editor,As of Monday, February 21, 2022, I have withdrawn my candidacy for the offi ce of the Mayor of the City of Lamesa, Texas. It was never my intent to challenge Josh Stevens’ leadership.I submitted my application with the understanding that Mayor Stevens had chosen to not see re-election. When Josh told me he was seeking re-election, I was excited for our city. Josh has done a remarkable job in leading our city through the COVID-19 pandemic as well as multiple other situations.
