More oil drilling activity is being planned in the southeastern part of Dawson County.Birch Operations of Houston has obtained a permit from the Texas Railroad Commission to drill a directional well about 18 miles southeast of Lamesa.That location is roughly five miles north of Ackerly.The No. 2DN Hot Pie 37-48 A is scheduled to be taken to a total depth of 15,000 feet.
