The west intersection of U.S. Highway 180 and FM 829 will soon be the site for three new horizontal oil drilling operations. CGS Operating of Kilgore last Friday received permits from the Texas Railroad Commission to drill the three wells from a location now being prepared at the northeast corner of the intersection. That drill site is about 7.2 miles west of Lamesa and a half-mile west of the King-Mesa Gin. The surface locations for all three wells will be in a row some 357 feet east of FM 829.
