An emergency purchase for modernization of the elevator at City Hall will be considered at this coming week’s regular meeting of the Lamesa City Council. That meeting will get underway at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall, 601 South 1st Street. Council members talked last year during budget workshop sessions about needed repairs to the elevator, which goes from ground level to below-ground level where the Lamesa Police Department is housed. They said increasing problems had been experienced with that elevator.
