The 2023 Miss Merry Christmas received her crown Sunday at the end of a pageant that brought out contestants seeking six other titles.This year’s recipient, Evelyn Mendoza, 17, is a Lamesa High School (LHS) student. A native of Mexico, she is still learning English.Mendoza received her crown from last year’s Miss Merry Christmas title holder, Neihmaya Howard.She competed against nine other contestants for the coveted crown, which came with a $1,000 Howard College scholarship and a cash prize.
