The public, parents and school staff are invited to a dedication ceremony to honor the life of a South Elementary School teacher beginning at 2:15 Friday in the school cafeteria.First grade teacher Sylvia Arteaga Hernandez, 59, was killed Aug. 21 in Lubbock.A plaque to be hung in the school’s main office will be presented during the ceremony.Hernandez had worked at South Elementary since August 2018.
