Three retiring Lamesa firefighters with a total of almost 75 years of voluntee service to the community were recognized during the Lamesa Fire Department’s annual Christmas banquet held this past Wednesday.David Bennett, who has held various offices within the volunteer fire department, is retiring after 27 years as a Lamesa firefighter.Emilio Barrientes, who has served as the department’s secretary for a number of years, was recognized for 23 years of service with the department.Steven Phillips, who has been serving as a captain in the fire department, is leaving after putting in 13 years as a volunteer firefighter.Each was presented with ...
