Governmental offices are shutting their doors this week for the New Year’s holiday. Lamesa City Hall and the Lamesa Area Chamber of Commerce offices will be closed both Thursday and Friday. Dawson County offices and federal agencies, along with West Texas Opportunities, will be open Thursday, but closed Friday. The U.S. postal system will be delivering mail Thursday, but not on Friday. The Dawson County Public Library remains open Thursday. It is closed Friday. Area banks are holding regular business hours of 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, but are closed for New Year’s Day.
