ANDREWS – The comparisons are somewhat surprising when stacking up unleaded gasoline prices in Andrews against other areas in Texas. Andrews is substantially higher than many places in the state. That notion seems odd considering Andrews is right in the middle of the oil patch with nearby refineries. “It’s greed,” one Andrews resident said of the higher prices here. In Andrews this week, Allsup’s was among the lowest in at $2.67 a gallon. Similar prices are posted in smaller area cities such as Seminole, Denver City and Lamesa.
