ANDREWS – A federal agency this past week issued a license for the construction of a consolidated interim storage facility for spent fuel at Waste Control Specialists’ site in far west Andrews County.It was only the second such license issued by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.The NRC’s decision culminated a lengthy review process that began five years ago and was briefly halted when WCS withdrew its original application.
