The Slaton Public Library is back in business after a months-long hiatus due to COVID-19 and the lack of a librarian. The library reopened on June 1, and Librarian Cynthia Olivares said the library focus group has been discussing the logistics of a grand reopening on Sept. 12. Oivares has made many changes such as repainting the inside of the library in bold, bright colors and patterns, and moving children’s book nearer the children’s section.
