A Lamesa resident lost his life and a Lubbock man was injured in a vehicular accident Thursday afternoon.The Texas Department of Public Services (DPS) is continuing its investigation into the accident, according to DPS Sgt. Steven Blanco.Rex Zant, 89, of Lamesa sustained fatal injuries in a two-vehicle collision along U.S. Hwy. 87 and County Road L in Dawson County.He was transported to Medical Arts Hospital where medical staff declared him deceased.The accident happened around 3:04 p.m.Zant was driving a 2019 GMC Acadia south on Hwy. 87 when another driver, John Villalobos, 37, of Lubbock, was traveling east on CR L ...
