Lamesa Independent School Board members are meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday in the school district’s Central Office board room at 212 N.Houston Street.The board will be presented with a new School Resource Officer (SRO) position.The board agreed months ago to consider hiring a fifth SRO. The district currently has four SROs who are certifi ed through the Lamesa Police Department, but are hired by the school district. The licensed officers provide security on all four school campuses.Board members will hold discussions on revising the 2023-2024 school district’s compensation plan.
