Without any contested races, the planned May 4 election for two positions on the board of directors of the Dawson County Hospital District has been cancelled.Hospital board members took action during their regular meeting Tuesday to cancel the election after officially certifying the two candidates for those positions as both being unopposed.Incumbents Leslie Hawkins, representing District 2, and Steven Hatchett, serving in District 4, were the only ones to sign up for those spots during the candidate filing period which ended a couple of weeks ago.That means both Hawkins and Hatchett will now serve additional threeyear terms in their current ...
