Hospital begins effort to bring back services

Officials with the Dawson County Hospital District are hoping to bring back some of the local medical services that have been eliminated in recent years due to budget challenges.That effort is reflected in one of the changes made to the district’s proposed budget for the 2023-2024 fiscal year before it was adopted Thursday evening by the board of directors.Included in the final budget is a $350,000 expenditure listing for the purchase of an anesthesia machine and medical scopes, said Colby Reeves, the hospital district’s chief financial officer.Those will be part of the district’s first steps toward bringing back some basic ...
