Calling it a “zero balanced budget,” Dawson County Hospital District (DCHD) Chief Executive Officer Letha Stokes presented board members Thursday with a 2020-2021 budget with no current plans for a tax hike. That could change, DCHD board president Kim Bairrington said, if property values fall and the hospital’s revenue decreases. Currently the hospital district has a property tax rate of 40.5028 cents per $100 valuation. The rate generates about $3.3 million in revenue for the district.
