Houston-based Birch Operations recently received permits from the Texas Railroad Commission to drill a trio of horizontal oil wells in close proximity to each other about three and a half miles north-northwest of Ackerly.All three wells will be drilled from a site less than 100 yards south of County Road 32, almost a mile east of FM 178.The western-most of the three wells is the Ironborn 34-27 A, No. 2DN.
