U.S. Highway 87 between Lamesa and Tahoka is now open for traffic.The highway was reopened on Wednesday morning, with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) removing barricades that had been across the roadway at the northern edge of Lamesa.Traffic had been detoured through Brownfield since Thursday of last week when a downpour left Higwhay 87 flooded and under water just a short distance north of O’Donnell.The West Texas Mesonet automated weather station at O’Donnell recorded more than seven inches of rainfall in just a three-hour period last Thursday.TxDOT personnel brought in pumps from the Dallas area and began pumping water ...
