Fire-fighting brush trucks will be stationed at different locations throughout the county on July 4 as Lamesa Fire and Rescue prepares for the possibility of fires caused by fireworks. “Those fires usually are pretty small if we can get to them early,” Fire Chief Larry Duyck told the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday. “So one or two firefighters who are nearby can handle them without all of us having to respond. “We’ve done this the last few years and it works a lot better and is more efficient.
