Lamesa disregarded the rules and misbehaved in celebrating Independence Day with fireworks over the weekend. Officials reported citizens ignited aerial fireworks in the middle of city roadways; often right in front of their homes. They even left messes of spent casings behind in the roadways. When officers responded to calls about the noise – and in some cases, fireworks remnants landing on their roof – many residents just ignored them. “They would be requested.
