SNYDER – Snyder Fire Department personnel responded to a call shortly after noon last Thursday of a fire located near the intersection of Cavender Road and Block Line Road.Scurry County entered an exceptional drought condition on March 10, according to the National Weather Service.“With the very low humidity and high winds this week for the West Texas area it’s the perfect recipe for wildfires,” Benjamin Terry with the National Weather Service said.Firefighters were able to act quickly on the fire south of town and were able to get it contained.
