With only five more days on the calendar before filing in the May 7 election ends, only one candidate filed this week to run for a spot on the Dawson County Hospital District board of directors.Leslie Hawkins filed Monday to run for Lonnie Ferguson’s Precinct 2 position on the hospital board, according to the hospital district’s elections administrator, Sara Del Busto.Ferguson hasn’t filed in the race, as of Friday afternoon.Board President Joe Cope, serving Precinct 4 on the board, is seeking another term.
