FFA members from Lamesa and the surrounding area came home with a mixture of awards and scholarships from the 94th Texas FFA State Convention held last week in Fort Worth.Sagen Oaks, who will be a junior at Lamesa High School this fall, captured eighth place in the Senior Prepared Public Speaking - Conservation contest at the Fort Worth Convention Center.She was awarded both a plaque and a large banner in recognition of her success.Sagen had advanced to the state contest from the Mesa District and Area II public speaking contests held earlier this year.The focus of her conservation speech was ...
