Final plans are coming together as Lamesa’s big Chicken Fried Steak Festival is now less than two months away.“We’re expecting it to be as good or better than anything we’ve had in the past,” Lamesa City Manager Joe Hines said Friday afternoon.“We’re expecting 4,000 to 5,000 people that Saturday.”Scheduled for April 29 through May 1 at Forrest Park, the 12th annual festival will feature many of the same things from the past but with some new twists to the activities as well.One of those changes will be a switch this year from a chicken fried steak dinner on the opening ...
