Lamesa’s downtown area soon will be getting a facelift in several locations with the assistance of local economic development funding.Three facade improvement grants, plus an incentive grant in the form of a forgivable loan, were approved Monday during a joint board meeting of the Lamesa Economic Development Corporation (LEDC) and Lamesa Economic Alliance Project (LEAP).A trio of facade improvement grants totaling $83,953 will help fund a total of $127,591 in exterior improvements at businesses in the downtown area.The largest of those grants, at $60,469, will help fund a major exterior makeover at Jeanne’s Fancy Pecans on the southeast corner of ...
