Lamesa schools will be hosting several events Thursday to honor local veterans on Veterans Day.Lamesa High School’s Family Career and Community Leaders of America students will cook and serve omelettes to veterans during a come-and-go breakfast from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Dawson County Senior Citizens Center.Local veterans are invited to join more than 360 middle school students for an assembly beginning at 9:48 a.m. Thursday.“It will last about 30 minutes and it will be in Follis Gym,” said LMS Principal Stephen Cross.High school teacher Zach Leonard will be the guest speaker during the assembly.“It will be open ...
