Half of Lamesa school district’s four campuses are going through a growth spurt due to higher enrollment rates.And it’s not expected to stop anytime soon even after the 2023-2024 school year begins Wednesday.Four school principals informed school board members Thursday about their hopes for the start of the upcoming school year and enrollment figures.Three of them are starting their first year here as principals.Doug Tipton, the new South Elementary School principal, reported his campus already has grown by about 70 students.At the end of the last academic year, South Elementary had 303 students.
