It was a quick transition after a year of severe drought to have rescue personnel helping people out of flooded vehicles and roadways Wednesday afternoon.A thunderstorm quickly discharged a downpour of about two inches of rainfall at the northeast edge of Lamesa and about 2.75 inches at Arvana Gin, about four miles north of the city.The storm caused runoff water to surge over highways north, east and west of Lamesa, and across lowlying streets inside the city.One woman was rescued from a flooded vehicle near the intersection of FM 178 and Co.
