Dawson school board members decided this past Monday to use federal funds to purchase a new school bus.The 77-passenger bus will be purchased from Blue Bird Bus Sales of Lubbock at a price of $110,000, Dawson Superintendent Gary Jones said.Funds for the purchase will come from the federal stimulus program known as Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) II.“It will mainly be a route bus but we’ll use it for trips as well,” Jones told the Press-Reporter.Board members also scheduled a required public hearing on the school’s Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST) report for 7 p.m. Dec.
