While Dawson ISD will be losing its superintendent at the end of this week, there will be a familiar face in the superintendent’s office at Welch next Monday. During a called meeting this past Monday the board formally accepted the resignation of Layne Sheets, who has served as the school’s superintendent the past two years. Sheets was hired last week as the new superintendent for the Jayton-Girard School District in Jayton, located about 55 miles east of Post. Sheets’ resignation is effective this coming Friday.
