State health officials have added one more death to the toll of lives taken by COVID-19 in Dawson County. The Texas Department of State Health Services website on Thursday was showing 47 local residents have now died from the virus which officially arrived here last March. That toll has more than doubled in the past two months, climbing from only 19 at the end of October and 36 at the end of November.
