SEMINOLE - In a press release last week, Governor Greg Abbott announced the Center for Disease Control (CDC) had made an initial allotment of over 1.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Texas for December. According to Seminole Memorial Hospital District Chief Executive Officer Larry Gray, two pharmaceutical companies - Pfizer and Moderna - have requested Emergency Use Authorization from the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) for their COVID-19 vaccine. The FDA is expected to approve both companies by Friday. “We expect to receive the vaccine for the hospital district employees in the month of December and will immediately begin immunizing our staff.
