Dawson County commissioners are wrapping up the final numbers for the 20232024 budget and tax rate.They are holding public hearings and voting on the $9.8 million budget and tax rate during their 4 p.m., Tuesday meeting in the county courthouse at N. 1st and Main streets.The court will hold a public hearing on proposed salary increases before voting on the compensation, offi ce, travel expenses and all other allowances for county, precinct officers and other county employees.Commissioners last month proposed eight-percent pay raises for employees; and salary hikes to nine elected office holders.The court could modify the new budget.After the ...
