Members of the Dawson County Commissioners Court on Tuesday delayed action on guidelines and participation in any property tax abatements.The court, however, did get a chance to visit with the attorney who is preparing guidelines and will be representing Dawson County in any upcoming abatement negotiations.Aaron Clements, who currently is serving as county attorney for Dickens County east of Lubbock, was recently hired to represent Dawson County on abatement issues.On hand for Tuesday’s meeting of the commissioners court here, Clements said he has handled several requests for abatements in Dickens County.“It’s fairly simple,” he said, although noting that Dawson County ...
