After continuing to go through the proposed budget with a fine-toothed comb, county officials announced Tuesday they will not have to dip into the county’s reserve funds as much as they had expected. But to avoid a tax increase – as the commissioners court has indicated they hope to do – the county will still have to pull about $1 million from its reserves in order to balance the budget for the 2022 fiscal year.
