The numbers remain positive for both Dawson County and the City of Lamesa as they continue to see increases in sales tax revenue.Local sales taxes are collected by businesses and are sent to the state comptroller’s office along with state sales tax revenue. The local tax money is then rebated to the city and county on a monthly basis. This month’s rebates represent sales made in September and during the third quarter of this year.The county’s recent rebate of $129,707 is 38.9 percent more than the $93,381 payment last October. The county has collected a total of $1,212,181 this year.
