Lamesa City Council members called for engineering bids Tuesday for a project to replace water and sewer pipes along Bryan Ave between S. 4th and N. 4th streets.The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) began a three-year project in 2020 to improve roadways, including that portion of Bryan Ave. While reviewing the roadway project, TxDOT engineers noticed the aging pipelines in need of replacement.The estimated $1.134 million job to replace the lines could possibly begin this summer when middle school students are out of school.The cost could change once engineering firms submit their bids for the job, said Mayor Josh Stevens.The ...
