SNYDER – Scurry County Commissioners voted to let Sheriff Trey Wilson hire three additional jailers in order to use the third pod at the Scurry County Jail and potentially generate additional revenue for the county through housing out-of-county inmates. Wilson told the court Tuesday that opening the pod could generate $650,000 in new revenue for the county, which would offset by the approximately $250,000 personnel expense for the three new hires.
