Each year, supporters of the only non-profit movie theater in the state organize a membership fund drive to ensure Movieland Theater remains in business.They’re conducting the Friends of Movieland membership drive starting at 6 p.m., Feb. 26 at the theater.“The proceeds go for operation and upgrades,” said Movieland Theater Manager Mike Roy. “And basically any kind of repairs that might arise.”In the past, proceeds raised through the annual membership drive paid for new tile in the lobby, a new marquee, remodeling and a roof.This year’s funding will cover the cost for a popcorn machine, and minor changes to the sound ...
