A Colorado man lost his life in a one vehicle accident Thursday, Aug. 17, afternoon near Ackerly.The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. about 1.1 miles north of Ackerly on US 87, according to a press release issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety.Shahir Anwar Ahmed, 42, of Denver, Colorado, was transported to Medical Arts Hospital where he was pronounced dead.Ahmed was driving a 2015 Porsche 911 southbound on US Highway 87 when he veered onto the west shoulder, according to the preliminary accident report.He then over corrected back into the southbound lane.
