Revitalizing the downtown area with better lighting and sidewalks, along with replacing sewer and water lines along Bryan Ave., took another step forward Tuesday night when Lamesa City Council members opened bids and awarded the construction projects to two different companies.The council accepted a $447,811 bid from AAJ Concrete Construction for sidewalk and lighting improvements along Austin and Main streets between N. 2nd and N. 1 streets.
