Lamesa City Manager Joe Hines presented city council members Thursday with information about possible pay hikes, tax rate scenarios, adding another holiday to the city’s calendar, and converting a municipal building into a future animal control facility. The presentation came during the council’s second work session on proposals for city’s 2023-2024 proposed budget. Work on that budget is still in the early stages.“You just want to bring out initial numbers and highlight where we are. Really just an overview,” Hines said about the preliminary numbers. The council’s next budget work session is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. this coming Thursday at City Hall.
