Stray and abandoned dogs apprehended by the city’s animal control officer may soon get a reprieve, as city council members on Tuesday discussed extending their stay in the animal shelter from 72 hours up to 11 days before the pets qualify for euthanasia due to lack of space.Council members took no action on the proposal.
